Cheap enterprise PCs? Not anytime soon — analysts

Historic price hikes for PCs are likely to linger for a long time, prompting many enterprises to put hardware upgrades on hold, analysts said.

Enterprise PC prices are expected to remain high, with analysts warning that a return to low-cost systems is unlikely in the near term. The increase is driven by rising component costs, particularly for DRAM and NAND, which are rebounding after a prolonged downturn and pushing overall device prices upward.
Vendors are already adjusting pricing strategies in response to these changes, and further increases are anticipated as component costs continue to climb.
